William Public School (2023- Present)
Schools play a vital role in both promoting mental health and preventing psychological difficulties among children and adolescents. Schools provide an important environment not only for identifying students experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges, but also for supporting their overall social, emotional, and moral development. Studies show that children and adolescents struggling with emotional difficulties are more vulnerable to academic failure, self-harm, substance abuse, violence, and criminal activities. In contrast, students with strong emotional and social wellbeing often demonstrate better academic performance, healthier relationships, greater confidence, and higher life satisfaction. As a trusted psychological center and best counseling center in Nepal, PICS NEPAL remains committed to strengthening students’ mental health through professional school counseling and psychosocial support services.
Teaching can be both rewarding and demanding, and teachers carry significant responsibility in shaping students’ academic and emotional growth. Teachers benefit greatly from becoming knowledgeable about school mental health, emotional wellbeing, and behavioral support strategies. Many educators seek guidance in promoting mental wellness in classrooms and identifying students who may be struggling emotionally or psychologically. When teachers feel better equipped to address students’ mental health concerns, it becomes easier to manage disruptive classroom behaviors, create healthier learning environments, and support students’ academic progress effectively.
As part of the PICS School Project, PICS NEPAL has been providing school mental health services at William Public School since Shrawan 2080 B.S. Students from Kindergarten to Grade 10 have been receiving professional mental health and counseling services through this initiative. Recognized as a growing psychological hub and counseling center in Nepal, PICS NEPAL follows a triangular approach within the School Mental Health Project by actively working with students, teachers, and parents to build a stronger emotional support system within the school community.
Through observations and needs-based assessments, PICS NEPAL provides both individual counseling and group counseling sessions for students, parents, and teachers. The experienced counselors and therapists at PICS NEPAL also conduct psychoeducation and mental health awareness sessions on important topics such as stress management, anger management, academic motivation, emotional regulation, parenting skills, communication skills, and positive behavioral development.
