Investing in school mental health results improvement in increasing academic success rates. Students’ academic success and motivation is linked with their psychological and emotional wellbeing. School mental health program focuses on social, emotional and academic learning from kindergarten to grade 10. Students spent most of the time at school and therefore early intervention and prevention of mental health problems can be easily done in schools. Promoting school mental health program helps in decreasing children vulnerability to criminal activities, violence, child labor, and self-harm. Additionally, enhancing student mental health can improve teachers burden towards creating healthy and educational environment. PICS Nepal is providing Mental health services in Nawaratna English Boarding School is located at Madhyapur Thimi, Nearby Nepal Korea Hospital, Bhaktapur, Nepal through PICS School Mental Health Project since Bhadra 2080 B.S. The teachers, parents and students all are getting benefits from this project. It is providing both individual and group counseling sessions to students, teachers and parents on the basis of need as well as psychoeducation on the mental health topics; anger management, stress management, academic motivation, parenting skills, and so on.
